Mark has a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Monash University and is married with two children. He has a long background in the financial services industry commencing in 1986. Financial Advantage is a full member of the Mortgage Industry Association of Australia (MIAA) and is also a member of the Credit Ombudsman Service Limited (COSL).

Financial Advantage commenced operating as a Mortgage Minimizer in 1993 with its primary aim in assisting people with debt and mortgage reduction. With his financial planning background and culture of value added customer focus, Mark immediately recognized that the key to successful mortgage elimination rested with an effective coaching system aimed at controlling household expenditure via a budgeting program.

Consequently, he developed a comprehensive, self-contained package that incorporated fundamental money management principles and provided customers with clear monthly objectives for expenditure and mortgage reduction.

In addition Mark developed the concept of "Financial Coaching" whereby he acted as a personal "Financial Trainer" with the aim of working with clients in individually designed "fitness" programs to ensure their personal finances were in better shape than they had ever been.

This focus differentiated Financial Advantage in the market place as the emphasis for successful mortgage elimination rested with a grounded money management program rather than a mortgage product based approach that left the customer with a home loan they had no way of managing and no follow up support.

Since instigating the initial program Mark has continued to be creative by developing innovative upgrades and enhancements. This value for money, customer service focus came to the attention of at least one major lending institution that used Financial Advantage as a benchmark for other mortgage introducers in determining a reasonable fee for service that should be charged.

Whilst the business has grown steadily since 1993 with several hundred customers on its books, Mark has been content to keep the business manageable so as to ensure a "boutique" style operation in order to maintain a strong customer focus ethic.

Whilst still able to offer Mortgage Elimination strategies to it's clients, recent years have seen Financial Advantage focus more on the traditional range of Mortgage Broking services including:
